David Stires is a writer who primarily covers the financial markets for FORTUNE. He also writes about health care, energy, and other industries.
Prior to joining FORTUNE in 2000, he was a staff writer at SmartMoney, where he covered consumer and investing issues. He has also contributed stories to the Wall Street Journal.
Stires has a B.A. in history and fine arts from Harvard.
