Roddy Boyd
Writer
FORTUNE
FORTUNE writer Roddy Boyd covers Wall Street breaking news and analysis, and financial enterprises. Boyd was previously at the NY Post's business desk, where he was responsible for covering Wall Street, including the large brokerages, the exchanges and hedge funds.
At The Post, Boyd investigated and broke news about the financial and regulatory challenges facing Fairfax Financial Holdings, Biovail and Overstock — three companies that had sued research firms and hedge funds claiming they were the victims of wide-ranging conspiracies. As the sub-prime mortgage debacle took hold in the summer, he broke the story about the firing of Bear Stearns president Warren Spector, and was regularly the first to report on the effect of the market collapse on hedge funds and big brokers.
Prior to joining The Post, Boyd worked at The New York Sun and Institutional Investor News. A 1990 graduate of Fordham University, Boyd worked as an analyst and trader for seven years before turning to journalism.
