Jim Aley is an assistant managing editor at FORTUNE, where he primarily covers technology and the Internet.

Prior to FORTUNE, Aley was managing editor at Business 2.0, working out of the magazine's San Francisco office. He joined Business 2.0 in 1999, after working at FORTUNE as a reporter, writer, and editor since 1992. Before joining FORTUNE he was a systems analyst at Morgan Stanley.

Aley has a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
